Insurance Coverage Affecting Older Homes
1. Oil tank(s)
Above ground tanks that are 20-25 years old should be inspected by a
TECHNICAL STANDARDS AND SAFETY AUTHORITY
inspector. Underground tanks are not allowed and must be removed.
2. Knob and tube wiring.
Have it inspected and approved by the
ELECTRICAL SAFETY AUTHORITY
.
3. Galvanized water pipe.
Should be inspected by a professional certified plumber, have no previous plumbing claims and, if necessary, replacing of corroded pipe.
