Insurance Coverage Affecting Older Homes

1. Oil tank(s)
Above ground tanks that are 20-25 years old should be inspected by a TECHNICAL STANDARDS AND SAFETY AUTHORITY inspector. Underground tanks are not allowed and must be removed.

2. Knob and tube wiring.
Have it inspected and approved by the ELECTRICAL SAFETY AUTHORITY.

3. Galvanized water pipe.
Should be inspected by a professional certified plumber, have no previous plumbing claims and, if necessary, replacing of corroded pipe.
